Working for Box Elder

The Box Elder County Recorder/Surveyor’s Office would like to thank all of the Surveyors for the survey services that your company has provides to our residents. We feel that we have had a great working relationship with each of you and would like to continue that same relationship. We hope that you will continue to provide excellent services as we strive to better serve you and the public.

Box Elder County has contracted with a new Professional Land Surveyor, James Couts from Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) to assist Box Elder County with all of our Surveying services. We continue to work with Brent Slater from Jones & Associates to assist Box Elder County with all of our Engineering services.

Here is a Surveyor Letter and our subdivision checklist that should explain some of the standards that our new contracted PLS will be looking for on subdivisions before they are recorded.

Section Corners

According to Utah Code 17-23-17(7) if a surveyor finds or makes any changes to a section corner, quarter-section corner, or their accessories, the surveyor shall complete and submit to the county surveyor's office a record of those changes found or made.

Box Elder County has provided a PDF version of a Survey Monument Record to assist with this requirement.
