The Box Elder County Patrol
Division Performs technical law enforcement work in enforcing the laws and
protecting the citizens of Box Elder
County. Patrols
assigned areas of
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education
and Experience:
A. Graduation from a
standard senior high school,
AND
B. P.O.S.T.
Category I Certified.
2. Necessary
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working
knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, procedures, techniques and
equipment; working knowledge of Box Elder County geography; knowledge of
applicable laws and ordinances and departmental rules and regulations.
Reasonable
skill in the use of firearms and the operation of police vehicles as determined
by the department. Ability to observe situations, record them and react quickly
and calmly; ability to deal effectively and courteously with fellow officers
and the public; ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing;
ability to act with tact and impartiality; ability to perform work requiring
good physical condition; ability to meet necessary special requirements.

performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit,
talk and/or hear. The employee is

The
employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this
job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision,
depth perception.
SPECIAL
REQUIREMEN
Must have
successfully completed Utah State POST training.
Must
successfully complete a Field Training Program.
Has to
complete satisfactorily a six month evaluation period as Deputy I.
Must be a
resident of
Must complete
a minimum of 40 hours of P.O.S.T. training each year.
Must have
a valid Utah Driver's License.
Must be
able to perform essential functions of position.
No record
of criminal activity or drug use.
