BOX ELDER COUNTY EDUCATION
"Learning is Everything"
The mission of Box Elder School District is to provide all community members learning opportunities which develop the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to become contributing members of society; and do this by utilizing available resources and creating productive partnerships.
Whether entering preschool or earning a post-graduate degree, Box Elder County offers state-of-the-art education facilities that help to prepare every student for success in their individual life goals. Box Elder School District serves the entire population of Box Elder County. There are currently two high schools, Box Elder High in Brigham City, and Bear River High in Tremonton. A few years ago the district was reorganized creating two middle schools, which serve grades 8 and 9 and two intermediate schools, serving grades 6 and 7. The various elementary schools throughout the County include kindergarten through grade 5. After graduation, one can continue their education with a short 30 minute drive through Sardine Canyon to the campus of Utah State University or they may take advantage of the USU satellite branch located in Brigham City. Whichever they choose, the student will find that USU has wonderful facilities, excellent instructors, a superb student-teacher ratio, as well as hundreds of major content areas of study, for both undergraduate and graduate study programs.
Bridgerland Applied Technology Center (BATC) is located in the same vicinity as the USU satellite campus and has many special opportunities for both students continuing their education and businesses and their employees. BATC offers exceptional vocational training in a variety of fields and can also present custom-fit training programs that cater to the specific educational needs of many local businesses. Many businesses often request BATC's help in the training of employees in new technologies and skills.
With these two education facilities close by, many students take advantage of early college courses or technological training before graduation. The courses offered through the satellite campus of USU continue to grow and new courses of study are added for students wanting to attend BATC.
